{Help me out!}

"Seriously. I need your help. Some of these things are a bit dangerous to solo, but I can't heal myself. I need you to master White Mage. Please? No one else in my other linkshell has the time to help me. Besides... DeepSecond needs its own master White Mage, don't you think?"

Dawezy pleaded with me as she frowned, anticipating a declination.

"...but what about Ranger? Corsair? I thought we were all going to experience new jobs together! I..."

I couldn't refuse a request from someone I'd known so long. Besides... the allure of some of those items was calling... my inner pirate was giddy with delight. Gambling could wait a little while, I suppose...

"Please?" Her eyes watered up and her tail fell limp.

"I'll do it. But first, I'll need something from you..."

Dawezy donned her Red Mage Artifact Armor and escorted me to Buburimu Peninsula. If I was going to be her White Mage, I'd first have to learn to be a Black Mage. My knowledge of black magic was limited, but quickly expanding. Why, just last night, I mastered the spell "Warp" and warped myself all the way back to my home point! It's a good thing I had asked the War Warlock at the Outpost to set my home point there, or I could have been all the way back in Windurst. My, this should make teleporting my friends much more efficient, now.

Blizzard is a really fun spell to cast. My hands get so cold! The goblins don't seem to like it very much, though. Neither do the birds. Their wings freeze up and they fall down a lot. Poor birds...

Kintrra grinned at me when she learned of our expeditions. "I knew it. I knew you couldn't resist your inner helper. You were born to be a Paladin, just like me."

"On the contrary, Kin, my inner pirate is craving the loot that awaits me at the end of my journey."

"Only the inner pirate, now?" she inquired. "I thought you wanted to learn the ways of a Corsair."

"I... I do. I just have to do this first. One day, I will continue my training as a Ranger, and soon enough I shall don the hat of a Corsair. But that's in the future. This... this is now, Kin. I have to do this."

"How goes that clothcrafting, by the way?"

"Don't remind me," I replied, rolling my eyes.

I like this one. ^.^

Oh the power of a pretty face. You gotta watch out for those persuasive women. They're trouble. They will steal all your gil and make you feel like it was worth every cent.

Hehe, I was right tho. Your inner helper got ya again. Be it Paladin or White Mage, those of us who help nearly always fall into one of these two fields. =^.^=

Aww, thanks Alison. All of the dialogue in the entry is from actual conversations I've had with those characters within the past couple of weeks, but condensed for storyline purposes.

I'll probably draw a lot of things from prior playtimes so long as they have relevance to the current story events -- which, by the way, are often summaries of the past day or two's actual in-game events.

I've always found dialogue to be the most difficult part of writing, so I tend to avoid it in most things I write; however, that's not really a good thing to leave out of these types of blogs, so I guess it's somewhat of an experiment for me.

It's not like we're doing what [GM]Dave does with his Bannable Offenses and A Smithy's Life blogs. Those blogs are journals; our blogs are memoirs. Completely different writing styles.

...as you can see, I've been a bit of a literary nerd for years now. ^_^;;

And Kintrra, you just keep that swishy tail away from me and I'll be able to do my job just fine. Distractions may cause an untimely death for yourself.
